IC Realtime CEO Matt Sailor contributed expert commentary to media coverage examining how artificial intelligence is reshaping home technology ahead of 2026.

Artificial intelligence is expected to take on a more active role in home technology by 2026, according to insights shared by Hisense. Rather than serving solely as a connectivity layer, AI is increasingly embedded directly into appliances to optimize performance, efficiency, and user experience.

Matthew Glynn, Senior Product Marketing Manager at Hisense, explained that modern appliances—including washing machines, dishwashers, refrigerators, and ovens—are now designed to learn from daily use. These systems analyze factors such as load size, frequency of operation, and surrounding conditions to automatically adjust how appliances run.

Hisense points to its 7S Series washing machines as an example, where AI-driven features sense laundry weight, select wash cycles automatically, and regulate detergent usage to reduce waste and water consumption.

Beyond individual devices, AI is enabling greater coordination across the home. Hisense appliances connect through the ConnectLife app, allowing users to manage systems remotely and enabling appliances to share information. Features such as inventory scanning and guided cooking workflows are designed to create a more unified home environment.

Energy efficiency remains a primary factor influencing buying decisions, particularly in the medium domestic appliance market. Hisense says AI is increasingly deployed to reduce electricity usage and household operating costs. Appliances can learn household routines and schedule operation during periods of lower energy pricing or higher renewable availability, while usage data displayed in companion apps helps users better understand consumption patterns.

Design also continues to influence purchasing behavior. According to Hisense, buyers increasingly favor appliances that integrate seamlessly into modern interiors. Matte finishes, neutral tones, flush installation, and concealed controls are becoming more common as kitchens evolve into shared living spaces.

As part of broader industry commentary, Matt Sailor, CEO of IC Realtime, joined a panel of experts discussing how intelligence-driven systems are reshaping expectations around reliability, automation, and long-term performance in connected environments.

Additional expert perspectives featured in the coverage included leaders from TP-Link, Hover, Amazon, and Integrated Systems Events, reflecting a broad consensus that AI-driven adaptation, efficiency, and design cohesion will define the next phase of home technology.
