IC Realtime CEO Matt Sailor spoke with CE Pro about Bunker and the shift from traditional video surveillance toward contextual, edge-powered security intelligence for the connected home.
CE Pro recently featured IC Realtime’s Bunker platform, examining how edge AI could change the role of video surveillance in the connected home and create new opportunities for professional security integrators.
Built around a dedicated NVIDIA Jetson-powered edge gateway, Bunker is designed to add an intelligence layer to compatible professional camera systems. Rather than relying solely on cameras to capture and record activity, the platform processes video closer to the property to provide greater context around what is happening across the system.
The approach supports contextual detections, natural-language video search, multi-camera awareness, and notifications designed to give homeowners useful information about an event without requiring them to immediately open an app and investigate.
A key part of the platform is its device-agnostic architecture. Bunker is designed to work with compatible ONVIF cameras, allowing integrators to introduce AI-powered capabilities across supported existing systems as well as new deployments. This gives dealers an opportunity to add an intelligence layer without necessarily replacing an entire camera infrastructure.

Sailor explained that on larger properties, routine activity can generate a constant stream of events. The goal of a more intelligent security platform is to provide context around that activity so homeowners can more easily distinguish everyday behavior from events that deserve their attention.
Edge processing also plays an important role in Bunker’s architecture. By performing core AI functions closer to where video is captured, the platform is designed to reduce reliance on cloud processing while supporting faster analysis and a more privacy-conscious approach to security intelligence.
For professional integrators, CE Pro also highlighted Bunker’s subscription-based model and continuously updated software. The model extends the relationship beyond the initial hardware installation, giving dealers an opportunity to provide an evolving service while building recurring revenue.
